How Long Does It Take For Hcg Levels To Return To Normal After Giving Birth?

December 24, 2009 · Posted in HCG

I’m asking because my hormones are driving me insane and giving me horrible skin. I want to know how long it will take for hormone levels to return to normal after giving birth. If you breast feed do hormones stick around longer than if you don’t breast feed?
Sorry if this is an awkward question, I’m not sure how to word it…
I’m 25.5 weeks pregnant btw and I do plan on breast feeding.

I will say it’s probably the same even if you nurse. It’s going to be 6 to 8 wks to get back to normal, but most of the changes occur in the first 48 to 72 hours. After that you will have contractions from time to time over the next few months. My skin improves with pregnancy and gets worse after.

Breast Feeding does Wonders. You will bounce back faster than normal is you breast feed, It took soo long for my body to go back to normal, I will have to say one year? But I only breast fed my daughter for 2weeks?. Not good. (I was a young whipper snapper who wanted to eat brownines and other junk food). But give or take six months if you continue to breast feed. Good Luck.

It can take any where from 4-6 weeks after delivery.
