Had hCG injection 12 days ago – would it be out of my system yet, thus allowing me to accurately test?

I think 12 or 14 days past injection you can test and it should be out of your system. It depends on the quantity of hCG that they inject, but is also (apparantly) different for everyone.
In my case, I had 10,000 IU, tested on the 14th day with dollar store test and got a weak positive. I attribute it to being pregnant rather than residual hCG. But to be safe, probably best to do two blood tests 2-3 days apart to make sure hcG is rising and not falling.
I read, somewhere online, that some women tested from the get go…watching the tests go from positive to negative, then back to positive again as the pregnancy increased the hcG naturally. I think some of them saw it turn negative earlier than the recommended wait time. But I think the doctors wish to protect us against false hope.
Hope that helps!
